TOKYO has come a long way from the scattered small fishing villages before Tokugawa Ieyasu who established his shougnate there in 1603, through Meiji Restoration, to one of the most highly modernized metropolitan city in the world with population of 13 million people and a GDP of $923 B in 2013, almost comparable to that of Mexico or South-Korea. Despite rapid expansion and modernization
since the Meiji restoration, TOKYO has still kept some atmosphere of old Edo, its previous name in Tokugawa-shougnate era. TOKYO has many faces politically, economically, and culturally and will be a good start for foreign visitors to know Japan.
I like traveling, hiking, and talking with people from around the world, and would be pleased to help you to enjoy in your stay in Tokyo and its surrounding areas. I can provide you or your group of up to four people with the private touring guide service basically on a voluntary basis.
I have a professional license from Japanese Government with the registration number EN00836. Although a retired engineer, I'm still working at home as business English translator for the company. I'd just like to spend my spare time for foreign tourists to Japan so that they can enjoy more together with me.
